Wer hätte Mitte der 80er gedacht, dass Black Metal auch eine Musik für das Feuilleton und die intellektuelleren Musikhörer werden könnte, und das völlig ironiefrei? Liturgy betreiben seit Jahren eine ständige Ausweitung der Black Metal Zone, und sind damit so Avantgarde wie nur wenige andere Bands heutzutage. Am 5. Juni live, natürlich in der Manufaktur. Vorher geht das Wort aber an Hunter Hunt-Hendrix.
What was the most wonderful gig you ever played?
When we played Pitchfork Festival in 2012 as a two-piece, the set opened up during a thunderstorm, but half way through the sun came out and began beaming through the clouds like the voice of God. It was insane.
Where would you absolutely love to play?
Hawaii.
Please describe your worst studio experience.
We had a lot of difficulty in the studio this time around making the Ark Work; very difficult record to mix because there are so many moving parts.
What would your music sound like if Elvis had never existed?
It would sound the same.

How would you spend an unexpected gift of 1000 Euro (you’re not allowed to invest in alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, holidays or prostitution)?
I would put it towards supplementing recording costs for an ambitious new record.
