What was the most wonderful gig you ever played?
It was at the Sonic Ballroom in Cologne, where the audience beat up my evil brother Serpentine because he was fighting with me on stage.

Where would you absolutely love to play?
On a cruise ship with many rich old Russians and Americans.

Please describe your worst studio experience.
It was in the analogue studio in Degenfeld where we recorded „La Récolte“. After a lot of nerve-racking changes and improvements and finally getting through with „Rock’n’Roll“ by Velvet underground, Sonic sent me back to the studio only to re-record an „R“-sound in the word Rock’n’Roll. He always complains when I sing in English because he thinks I have too strong a French accent.

What would your music sound like if Elvis had never existed?
Is Elvis the musician who sounds like Johnny Halliday? I don’t know.

The title of the book that touched you most is…
On the road

Which ringtone do you use?
Peitsch mich mit dem Stacheldraht

The most beautiful love song ever is called…
Virages by Yves Duteil

Which song (except your own songs) do you know by heart?
Have you never been mellow by Olivia Newton-John

Boxer shorts or briefs?
What is this? I like Robert DeNiro in Raging Bull

Which Beatles song deserves a decent cover (by you)?
We can’t make Beatles covers

Which TV show is essential?
Fantomas with Louis De Funès

Please tell us your favourite joke.
I like making Nazi jokes on stage. But the Germans don’t think it’s funny. Once a group of people left the concert when I did the Hitler salute.

Describe the perfect stage outfit.
For men: a perfectly fitting black suit or tuxedo
For women: a dress by Lanvin or Christian Dior

Your favourite candy?
Mistral Gagnant

What would you be today if you had not become a pop star?
Wrestling Bunny

In which band would you like to play (except your own)?
The Kinks

What’s your favourite instrument?
My cousin Saïd’s Guitaret. It sounds wonderful, and he invented it.

The greatest musical genius (dead or alive)?
Serge Gainsbourg

The most beautiful woman in showbusiness?
Jane Birkin of course. We have a contract with the record label that says we must mention Gainsbourg and Birkin at least once in every interview.

How would you spend an unexpected gift of 1000 Euro (you’re not allowed to invest in alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, holidays or prostitution)?
I think the boys in the Quitriche family all would like to share a bathtub full of cocaine with five beautiful prostitutes on our brother Loup’s yacht, smoking expensive Davidoff cigarettes, gin and tonic in their hands, playing black jack. Then I say: „Boys! No alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, holidays or prostitution!“ They go: „Oh, then only black jack.“ But I wouldn’t tell them anyway and simply donate the money to the starving farmers in Quitriche-en-Auvergne.
